Tilta TGA-PPK2-V Overview

Replace the original sled on your RS 3 Pro, RS 3, or RS 2 gimbal with this Power Passthrough Plate with V-Mount Battery Plate from Tilta for additional power options on your rig. The plate is compatible with Manfrotto-style quick release plates for mounting just about any camera. A V-mount plate is provided to directly pass power through from a professional V-mount battery.

Power options include two 2-pin LEMO-type outputs and two D-Tap outputs that provide 14.8V to your camera. The two 2-pin ports also support power input, so you can utilize external power to your rig.

Bought this because of a link from a youtuber, didn't check the reviews. If you are reading this you won't make the same mistake.

Camera plates do NOT fit

I've had this for a while and I kept it because I thought it would come in handy but it's just far to difficult to use. So much so I should have returned but when I had the chance. The problem is that the fit for both the DJI camera plate and the Tilta one you can get to go with this are a pain to get on. The reason is that this power adapter isn't cut to the right size for the camera plates to fit. It's a few hairs to small but it makes ALL the difference. When I tell you that at some points along trying to push and pull the plate on and off it gets so tight even with it unlocked it's probably tighter than the native DJI parts are when they are locked. I have to position it in a way where I can use my own body weight just to get the thing off sometimes. This product would be great but reading other reviews it seems like the entire product line itself is inherently flawed rather than this just being a lemon. Maybe you could spend some time filing it down with some tools to fix it. I can't return it anymore so I might as well. It's better to have it with some scratches that be an expensive piece of junk in my drawer.

If a V-Mount battery is installed, does the battery then pass power through to these ports, or is a D-tap cable necessary?

Could you charge a battery through these ports by using a D-tap charger cable?

No, the Tilta Power Pass-Through Plate with V-Mount Battery Plate cannot power the V-Mount battery attached through the D-Tap on the unit. The battery can however be charged with its own D-Tap port.
