Earthworks FW730 Overview

This pair of FW730 FlexWand Series 30 kHz High-Definition Cardioid Choir Microphones from Earthworks incorporates a highly sensitive 30 kHz FlexWand microphone built into a height-adjustable gooseneck stand. The entire microphone system is sleek, easy to set up, and reproduces audio with incredible detail. The integrated low-profile stand features internal cabling with an XLR connection on the bottom, reducing unsightly cables that can create noise. The height is adjustable from 1.5 to 7', making it easy to position the mic above a choir or group of singers, while the round, cast-iron base ensures stability.

Setting up the microphone is easy, simply connect a microphone cable (sold separately) to the base, supply the mic with 48V phantom power, and you are ready to go. Earthwork's patented high-definition microphone technology accurately reproduces frequencies up to 30 kHz that enhance subtleties and detail. A windscreen is included to reduce noise from air currents and vocal plosives.

Ideal for miking choirs and vocal groups
Cardioid polar pattern focuses audio capture on sound in front of the mic, picking up less sound from the rear and sides.
Frequency response of 30 Hz to 30 kHz
Near perfect polar response
Large flex section near the center of the stand that couples the stand and the wand
Mini-gooseneck between the end of the wand and the microphone head
The combination of a mid-flex section and the mini flex on the wand provide an infinite combination of placement options between 1.5 and 7'
Substantial improvement in gain before feedback
The near-perfect polar response of the FlexWand allows the use of fewer microphones on choir, with better sound quality, no spotlighting, and excellent rejection of sounds from the rear of the microphone

I ordered this pack of 3 and 1of the 3 arrived not functioning at all. I just now shipped it back for a fully-covered warranty repair/replacement but I had to pay $105 in shipping just to get it back to them. I love earthworks mics but lately I've had to send a lot of them back for warranty repairs and the shipping costs are adding up.
