Is this filter cable also a pre-amp? How does the mic get power if it bypasses the pre-amp module?

The Rycote Nano Shield MZL to XLR-3M Cable is only a cable and filter. Power would be acquired through phantom power from the mixer or recorder that the XLR-3M side is connected to.
