fThe Sonifex AVN-PX8X4C is a 2 RU mix engine at the heart of Sonifex's presenter mixer system, an in-ear monitoring (IEM) solution that lets the presenter adjust audio levels using the AVN-MPPR Presenter's Remote Unit in the studio while also letting the technician adjust levels using the AVN-MPTR Technician's Remote Unit (both available separately) from the control room. All three units are connected to a common RAVENNA-based audio-over-internet-protocol (AoIP) network.
The AVN-PX8X4C provides 24 mono analog inputs on three DB25 connectors and 16 mono analog outputs on two DB25 connectors. Eight virtual mixers are on board, each with four mono inputs (from the analog inputs or AoIP streams) and one mono output available locally at an output or via an AoIP stream. The mix engine will allow a maximum of 32 audio over IP input streams and each stream can contain up to 8 channels. Use the built-in webserver to configure I/O settings and assign the AVN-MPPR and AVN-MPTR units to the appropriate streams. Up to 4 AVN-MPPRs can be assigned to each Virtual Mixer on a first-come-first-served basis. Two AVN-MPTRs can also be assigned to the same virtual mixer, so a maximum of 6 devices can control the mix levels of a single virtual mixer.
