Functional solution to multi-brand tripod head problem...

I had been using Monfrotto RC2 tripod head exclusively, but saw a good monopod head of interest that was Arca-based and opted to try it out. That said, I am a grab and go photographer, and the idea of packing multiple different plates and swapping in and out based on the support of the day was not a viable solution for me. Enter the Benro. This mounting plate could live on my kit, and would work regardless of which tripod/monopod I was using that day. The piece is well made and solid. By necessity, the dimensions are small to fit both head types, and you're compromising a bit with that. The fit is solid enough and it does indeed work with both head types. If you don't have particularly heavy equipment this might be a nice long term solution. Workable but perhaps not ideal fit for those large telephoto primes, but the jury is still out. For the price, it is certainly worth the investment to have for those times when you need it.

I ordered this plate for a second camera body. I already have two Benro ball heads, the plates for which went on the long Sigma lens and body #1. All is now right, secure, and ready to roll!
