SmallRig 4114 Overview

Mount your camera on just about any flat, dry surface with this 6" Suction Cup Camera Mount from SmallRig. This heavy-duty suction cup features a 6" diameter, and it supports payloads up to 176 lb horizontally and up to 132 lb vertically. It is designed to mount on a flat surface and features wear-resistant construction.

A large pump button on the side creates a vacuum for a solid grip. The top plate features multiple 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 mounting threads, plus a 3/8"-16 ARRI-style anti-twist mount to add mounting gear, magic arms, and camera heads. A dust cover is included to protect the suction cup in storage.

Note:
This product should always be used with a secondary form of mounting and should be checked at least every four hours.

Good for some things

I got this as a budget option over other brands, and because of the side facing 3/8 receivers. It's solid, works well, and the mounting options are plentiful but unfortunately they're all too shallow to work with my existing hardware. Every baby pin I own only screws in about halfway before it hits the bottom of the receiver, so I expect this cup is designed for more lightweight uses than even a baby pin. Overall it's a solid product for what it is, but if I'd known I'd have to grind down the thread on a brand new set of hardware I'd have just spent the extra $20-$50 for the name brand, or the ones that come with pre-installed baby pins.

Is this strong enough to hold onto a wall the amaran COB 60x S with a lantern or parabolic soft box?

The SmallRig 4114 Suction Cup Camera Mount (6") can support payloads up to 176 lb horizontally and up to 132 lb vertically. The amaran COB 60x S with a lantern or parabolic soft box is lighter. The surface you are putting it on needs to be flat, dry and smooth.
