Very useful if you use the FX3, as it allows you to extend the viewfinder all the way and not hit your hand on Left hand side.

Perfect for Tilta Nano II Wheel

There is a NATO rail on the left side of my FX3 cage. I attach a rotatable handle there for ergonomics when using auto focus exclusively. The rail is at the bottom of the cage so the handle mounts too low for comfort and must be rotated to allow the camera to sit normally on a flat surface. I use the Tilta Nano II system when I need to pull focus. The control wheel can attach to cage's side rail but it blocks and slightly pushes the HDMI cable and door. And just like the rotatable handle, it sits too low for comfort. All of these issues are 100% solved with this NATO rail extension.

Can you adjust the nato lock tension?

Can you adjust the nato lock tension?
Asked by: Joe
Just to elaborate, I posed this question so I could leave feedback regarding it. The other answer to this question is not entirely accurate. I was able to adjust the tension of the lock pretty easily. I unscrewed the two allen bolts, which pulls the female nato lock off. On the back are two very small screws. You unscrew them and there is a ring with teeth. You pull the locking lever off that and then rotate the teeth - one way or the other to adjust the locking tension. Then put it all back together. Mine was a little loose. Now it fits perfect when the lever is fully closed. I noticed that somebody rated this with one star because they said it didn't fit their rail. It's possible those teeth were set too tight in the unlocked position for that user. Just wanted to get this out there. Tilta also makes a 15mm rod adapter to female nato, and a user mentioned you could adjust that clamp similarly. That's how I thought to try it with this version. I bought both.
