A Nifty Lens
I’ve had the 14-150mm since 2018. I use it mainly to photograph cars, trains and trolleys, but it’s also a good choice for travel and event photography. I’ve used it with the Olympus EM1-2, EM1-3, EM5-2 and OM-1, as well as the Lumix G9. It’s worked well with all the cameras. Even though I also shoot 35mm and APS-C cameras, I like going out with just a small camera bag and the OM-1/14-150mm combo, especially if I’m going to be walking around for hours. The primary end-use of my photos taken with the lens is posting on Flickr (full size, 300ppi, minimum jpg compression) after editing in the current version of Photoshop. So I prefer to evaluate lenses based on how Flickr photos look on my 4K monitor rather than the YouTube method of shooting meaningless test subjects and then examining the resultant photos at 400%. I also have the Olympus 12-100mm, and while I appreciate its better build quality and faster speed, the difference in sharpness between it and the 14-150mm isn’t dramatic. I doubt viewers can see a difference in posted photos and smaller prints, and even if they can they won’t care if they like the photo.
