Proprietary 45mm large-aperture dynamic drivers with rare earth (neodymium) magnets and CCAW (copper-clad aluminum wire) voice coils deliver high-quality sound reproduction with clarity, deep bass, and extended bandwidth (15 Hz to 28 kHz).
The circumaural design contours around the ears for excellent sound isolation in loud environments. This over-ear, closed-back style is optimal for reducing bleed and separating you from outside sounds.

The mic is attached to an adjustable boom arm that places the mic in an optimal position, while the microphone's cardioid pickup pattern focuses audio capture in front of the mic, picking up less ambient sound from the rear and sides.

I bought 2 of these as live-commentary headsets for esports tournaments/production. These are easily the best sounding headsets for their price that I've heard. The mics are very nice for their size, and having the drivers of the regular M50X headphones means they sound great and are very comfortable.

- This headset sounds great and the voice quality from the microphone is perfect for my needs.
- The audio sounds professional and eliminated the need to have a separate microphone to mess with while trying to stream or record voice.
- I think anyone thinking about streaming or doing voiceovers should consider this microphone for its multiple uses and ease of setup.
- I am not normally a fan of non-open back headphone, but these ones are very comfortable and don't get too hot while wearing for several hours.
- I also really like the integration of the mic monitoring button so I can hear myself in the headset to see how my audio levels and voice sound.
- I would recommend this headset to both professionals and hobbyist considering starting voice recordings or live streaming.

The manufacturer does not specify the fit size of the Audio-Technica ATH-M50xSTS; however, the headset features adjustable cups on both sides and should fit most head sizes.
