Designed specifically to withstand the rigors of challenging live-sound environments, the FetHead Broadcast from Triton Audio is an inline preamp that adds 23 dB of clean gain to your mic signal before it hits your preamp or mixing desk. The additional gain allows you to drive longer cable runs and provides higher quality audio with a better signal-to-noise ratio for improved fidelity.

Designed for Live and Broadcast Environments
In broadcast or live performance situations, a microphone signal often travels through long cables before reaching the mixing desk. When small microphone signals travel adjacent to power lines or dimmed light cables, audible signal interference is likely to be induced into the microphone cable. Fethead Broadcast amplifies the microphone signal before the cable and greatly improves the signal to noise ratio, offering a much higher quality signal to the mixing desk. A low-impedance output buffer enables output drive to long cables (up to 9842'). Another advantage is that the FetHead Broadcast does not need main supplies or batteries.
Easy Operation
Connect your microphone on the input XLR of your Fethead Broadcast. At the opposite side an XLR cable runs from your Fethead Broadcast to the mixer/preamp. it's ready for use with any type of phantom-powered setup. Fethead Broadcast uses phantom power to power its circuitry, but also provides enough phantom power to power the connected microphone.

Neutral PreAmp for Condenser and Dynamic mic

The reason I got this was because I have a Lauten LS-208, which is a condenser mic with a very low output and I'm running it into my Motu M2. When I'm doing a quiet recording, I have to crank my gain high enough that I hear preamp noise, so I needed a preamp that provided or passed through phantom power. This was one of the only options I could find that were small, sonically transparent, and passed phantom power. When I use a dynamic, Its normally plugged into a Dynamite DM-1. First thing I noticed was it's a lot smaller than I expected. I thought it would be 4-6 inches long, but its more like 2.5 inches. Its smooth, buttonless, and looks pretty good next to a nice mic on a stand. Its actually smaller than the DM-1, which doesn't pass phantom, so that's very nice. My main issue with the build design is that it doesn't plug directly into a mic or interface. You need a cable or adapter on either end, which is an unfortunate design for a neutral preamp that costs $150. I haven't noticed an effect on the sound of my mic (other than volume) and the extra volume is very noticeable. If you don't need extra gain on a condenser mic, don't plan on getting a low sensitivity condenser, or don't mind having a stick of dynamite in your room then buy the Dynamite DM1. It's half the price, and adds 5db more of gain, but you cannot use it on condenser microphones. The only issue I have with recommending the DM1 is it is a small red stick that says "DYNAMITE" on the side, so it looks like a weapon of war, luckily it's just for your mic.
