Lian Li LANCOOL 216 Overview

Bring flexible layouts and easy cooling to your next build with the LANCOOL 216 Mid-Tower Case in black from Lian-Li. Supporting ATX, Micro-ATX and Mini-ITX motherboards, this case also fits E-ATX boards up to 11.02". Install up to six 2.5" and two 3.5" drives. Seven expansion slots accommodate various adapter cards, including GPUs up to 15.43"; vertical GPUs are supported via a riser cable, available separately. This mid-tower case also supports CPU coolers up to 7.11" and ATX PSUs up to 8.66".

Preinstalled with a 140mm PWM fan and two 160mm PWM fans, this case supports up to 10 cooling fans and features a SATA-powered fan hub. Or, install a liquid cooling setup thanks to a flexible case design and support for radiators up to 360mm at the top and front of the case. A removable top radiator bracket allows for easy access to components, while a dedicated cable management space helps keep your build looking organized. Keep internals on full display via a tempered glass side panel. A front I/O panel sports a combo audio jack and a USB-C and two USB-A 3.0/3.1 Gen 1 ports and can be positioned at the top or bottom side of the front panel.

Front to Top Mesh
To ensure adequate airflow is provided to the system, the LANCOOL 216 features mesh at the front and top of the case, as well as on the PSU shroud's side. The front mesh extends to the top for a continuous mesh panel.

Please note, the mesh panel beside the PSU shroud chamber is removable but is also an integral part of the support mechanism for the side tempered glass panel.

Fan Hub
Located in the chamber behind the motherboard, a SATA-powered fan hub supports up to four ARGB and PWM fans.
Flexible Cooling
The modular motherboard I/O allows users to move the motherboard to a higher position more favorable for air-cooled systems or a lower position for liquid-cooled systems.

  • Set higher for air cooling, the motherboard leaves room above the PSU shroud for wider fans
  • Set lower, the motherboard leaves a 2.48" gap at the top to install radiator and fan combos, ideal for All-in-One coolers or custom setups
Relocate Front I/O Ports
Front I/O ports include power and reset buttons, plus an audio jack, one USB-C port, and two USB-A 3.0/3.1 Gen 1 ports. These ports can be relocated to the lower left side of the front panel.
Wide Compatibility
The LANCOOL 216 supports ATX, Micro-ATX, and Mini-ITX motherboards, as well as E-ATX boards under 11.02" when the grommet bar is flipped 180°. Thanks to a symmetrical design, cable management in the 2nd chamber remains unaffected for easy building.
Ready for Large GPUs
With enough room for graphics cards up to 15.43" in length and up to 7.09" in height in air cooling setups, the LANCOOL 216 is compatible with large graphics cards, including NVIDIA 4000 series cards.
Leak Free
Preinstalled at the front of the top radiator bracket, a seal plate ensures no pressure leak is created when installing radiators smaller than 360mm or air cooling options with footprints smaller than three 120mm fans.
Removable Top Radiator Bracket
The top mounting bracket can be completely removed from the case for easier hardware installation. The bracket comes off with the left side frame bar to provide optimal clearance. Two grooves have been implemented to allow easy passage of fan cables into the second chamber of the case, simplifying cable management and allowing for a cleaner overall look.
PCIe Fan Bracket
The GPU placed at the top of the expansion slots in air cooling mode opens up the possibility to add a 120mm fan at the rear of the case without obstructing the GPU I/O. This is also possible with a vertically mounted GPU in both air-cooled and liquid-cooled mode. The additional 120mm fan provides better cooling for the GPU and a greater balance between intake and exhaust for your system.
Vertical GPU Compatible
The PCIe expansion slot panel can be rotated to accommodate vertical GPUs via a riser cable, available separately.
Ample Storage
Two drive bays provide space for two 2.5" SSDs and two 3.5" drives. Plus, mount up to four 2.5" SSDs via two additional mounts on the PSU shroud and two on the back of the motherboard tray.

Please note, the 2.5" drive mounts on the PSU shroud can be used to mount cooling fans instead.

Cable Management
The LANCOOL 216 offers multiple options for easy cable management. Along the cable grommet bar, three large Velcro straps can hold two different sets of cables. Three small clips are located along the rear side panel, ideal for cleanly routing the 8-pin CPU cable, and two additional Velcro straps are located near the PSU chamber to help hold down the extra PSU cable length away from the ventilation path in the bottom chamber.
Optional Accessories
ARGB Control and USB Module
An ARGB control and USB module can be installed at the side of the front panel to provide better control over front ARGB fans. The ARGB control and USB module allows you to create custom lighting styles by mixing the lighting effects of both LED channels individually.
Dust Filter
For users who take dust management to the next level, a magnetic front panel dust filter is available separately. The dust filter fits perfectly between the front panel and the front fans to help keep your interior pristine.
PCIe Riser Cable
Install vertical GPUs using the Lian-Li PCIe 4.0 X16 Riser Cable, available separately.

Lian Li LANCOOL 216 Reviews

Stock fans loud, great airflow

Temps are absurdly cool, but stock fans are insanely loud. Getting big noctua fans in the front panel or some other decent brand would prove safety from noise. GPU fans barely spin because of the insane airflow in this beast. Thought I was going crazy so I checked temps, weren't going above 48 degrees under heavy artificial load lol. GPU is a 5070 ti sff windforce, accidentally bought the small form factor, worried about cooling, doesn't even matter. Stellar case.

Does the SLIN140-1W fit for exhaust? I know the SL140 v1 fits, but SL140 v2 doesn't unless you remove one of the fan's side panels
Asked by: Justin
The Lian Li SLIN140-1W is a 140mm PWM fan, which the Lian Li LANCOOL 216 RGB Mid-Tower Case does have a slot for. However, Lian Li has not provided explicit specs on which cases the fan is or is not compatible with, so this measurement would be the best information available.
