I Bought A 3rd Party BLX-1 Battery And The OM-3 Would Not Even Light Up The LCD Or Turn On After Charging In The Camera For Several Hours. It Finally Was Charged, But It Then Showed A Blinking Red LED On The Camera Body But Camera Would Not Turn On. Took It Back To The Store And It Checked Okay On Their Meter, But Would Not Turn On Their Display OM-3 Either. Got A Refund. Ordered The Vidpro BLX-1 From B&H And It Works! No Need To Waste Time To Charge It In The Camera Or Worry About Damaging The USB-C Port With A Bad Cable. Plug It Directly Into A USB-C Charger And After A Few Hours, Its Red LED Turns Green And Its Ready To Go. Camera Sees It And Reports It As A BLX-1 Battery Too So That Confirms Its Compatibility.

The Vidpro’s battery capacity is consistent with Olympus’ own BLX-1 battery. The usb.port in the battery makes charging very convenient.

You can use a USB-C male to USB-C male cable to charge this battery if the included cable has failed or is lost.
