Brother QL-820NWBC Reviews
Good hardware. Go with third-party design software and (reasonably priced) knockoff refill labels.
I ordered the Brother printer online to replace my aging Seiko smart labeler. Since Seiko hasn't updated their software in ages, it seemed like a good time to make the switch. My first task was to merge data and generate barcodes for an upcoming yard sale. Unfortunately, the Brother software was completely inadequate for this mission, and I just couldn’t get it to work. After some internet sleuthing, I found a program (Label LIVE) that addressed the shortcomings of the Brother software, allowing me to perform a data merge and even generate barcodes from associated websites. The printer itself is solid and relatively easy to use, though the replacement labels from Brother are wildly overpriced, in keeping with the company's standard practices. I also have a P-Touch Mini label maker, and those labels are similarly overpriced. The printing is fast, and the images are crisp. It's definitely an upgrade, but to get the most out of this printer, you might consider opting for third-party design software and knockoff labels.
Works well
Works great, a little slow and I can’t get it to print the round labels I got. I have to use the continuous labels and have it cut every 1.5 inches for my grab&go’s.
