An 18mm full-frame equivalent lens would likely vignette on the Tilta MB-T12 95mm Matte Box and Carrying Case Kit. We recommend working with a 24mm full-frame equivalent as the widest lens length.

Does the MB-T12 has a safety latch or something that prevents the filter trays from falling if you forgot to lock them?
Not really-- you do need to tighten the screws to lock them in, or it is possible that they'll fall out. This happened to me once. That said, they don't fall out *easily*, so you may be lucky.

According to Tilta the matte box is 2.6 lb. Its dimensions are 9.5" X 6". The edge of the lens mount area to the front edge of the matte box is approximately 2.25 inches.

The Tilta MB-T12 Matte Box includes hard Mattes with the kit. We can only confirm that the included Tilta Matte set would work with the Tilta MB-T12 Matte Box.
The kit comes with five hard mattes:

4. (1) 15mm LWS rod adapter

There is a set of six available for the Fotga DP3000 for $20 you can find. I don't know if their outside diameter matches the back diameter of the MB-T12. But for $20 you can experiment.

Generally, with the Tilta MB-T12 114mm Matte Box and Carrying Case Kit, it is recommended not to go wider than a 24mm lens when working with a full-frame sensor and 16mm when working with a Super 35 or APS-C sensor.
