Senal AWS-24G Overview

The Senal AWS-24G 2-Person Wireless Microphone System is a 2.4 GHz wireless system designed for interviewers, vloggers, and content creators looking to achieve improved audio capture. Included in the system are two clip-on transmitters with built-in omnidirectional microphones and a dual-channel receiver with three audio recording modes—mono, stereo, and safety. All the components communicate via line-of-sight transmission from up to 300' away and operate easily straight out of the box.

Two included omnidirectional lavalier microphones can be connected to the 3.5mm inputs on the transmitter units for more discreet recording. Built-in tie clips on each can secure them to your talent's lapels. The receiver features both 3.5mm TRS and USB-C output ports for audio delivery to DSLR cameras or compatible smartphones and computers using the included cables. LCD displays on all units offer battery and signal monitoring for intuitive operation in the field. Recharge your system on the go with the included charging case.

Included Lavalier Microphones
Two lavalier microphones are included with the system, so you can close-mic your subjects for richer audio quality. Their omnidirectional pickup pattern clearly captures dialog at any angle.
Clip-On Transmitters
Two compact bodypack transmitters feature built-in omnidirectional microphones with integrated body clips for easy attachment to your talent. Each unit has 8GB of internal storage to record 24 hours of 48 kHz 16-bit audio in WAV format, providing you with intact audio tracks that can be downloaded to your computer for editing and mixing. In normal recording mode, where the transmitters are delivering wireless audio to the receiver, the units can operate for 5 hours at a time. In onboard recording mode, the units have a 3.5 hour runtime.
Dual-Channel Receiver with Three Output Modes
The receiver unit is approximately the same size as the transmitters for a consistent form factor. The unit can pick up audio signals from up to 300' away and outputs them via 3.5mm or USB-C connection to a compatible camera, smartphone, or audio recorder. Onboard controls allow you to select between mono, stereo, and safety output modes. Safety mode outputs two mono tracks—one at the initial gain setting and one reduced by 6 dB—as a safeguard against distortion due to audio peaking.
Plug-and-Play Setup
The two transmitters automatically pair with the receiver once powered on. If the transmitters disconnect, the onboard pairing button reconnects it to the receiver via proprietary sync.
Included Charging Case and Accessories
The system has a dedicated charging case with slots for each component. A USB-C port recharges the integrated 3000mAh Lithium-ion battery. Additional accessories include two furry windscreens, a 3.5mm TRS to TRS cable, a 3.5mm TRS to TRRS cable, and a 3-in-1 charging and audio output cable.

If you are looking for an average, reasonably priced mic/recorder for basic social media videos, this is a good choice, but for a professional video, I don't recommend it. I was looking for a quick replacement for an old Tascam DR-10 that I could monitor on a receiver. The Senal AWS was not what I hoped for. While I could monitor the LCD screen would go dark while recording and only re-light when hitting the mode button. The audio quality with the included lav mics was very muffled and sub par. There was no easy to use function or control button. To adjust the DB it would adjust both mics. The battery life was disappointing as well. Ended up requesting a return because this item was not what I expected.

Most of the work that I do revolves around documentary talking head interviews or run and gun guerrilla style documentary filmmaking where I mic up my subjects with a hidden lav mic. I own 2 sets of the rode wireless mic systems and I always pair them with cos-11d lavs. Given my experience with wireless Rode mics, I can not tell the difference between the two. Here's what I love about this system... - this system comes with a charging case - the devices attach magnetically in the charging case - this comes with a set of lavs (even though I almost always use sanken lav mics) - the clips on the receiver and transmitters are strong - usb-c charging - Bright LCD - Fast plug-and play setup (just a few secs to set up) I've never had a subject get further than 50 feet away from me and if they're further than 50 feet there's always a line of sight so these work very well in these scenarios. Also, I think that the fact that I use cos-11d lavs makes all the difference because they make the sound quality even better. In the environments that I use these lavs, I never experienced any drops and whether you're using them as your main source or a back up, I do not think you'll have any issues with these. Regarding the comment about the bad battery life - I did not experience this, but I've never run a device for longer than 4 hours when I work. I think if you're looking for a great wireless system that just works and won't break the bank - these Senal wireless mics are the way to go. [I have received this product in exchange for my honest review]
