Providing four high-quality mic preamps and up to 66 dB of variable gain, the 19", 1 RU 4x4R Active Splitter from Drawmer is a 4-channel, 4x16 rackmounted splitter unit that is ideal for live sound applications like broadcast studios, press conferences, sporting events, live recordings, and corporate events as well as any situation where crystal-clear audio distribution is needed. The 4X4R utilizes four studio grade mic preamps with mic- or line-level switching, selectable 48V phantom power per channel, and low-noise, active splitting circuitry that can easily facilitate long cable runs without signal degradation.
Through the adaptive channel linking function, you can reconfigure the 4X4R with numerous I/O routings including 1x16, 2x8, 1x12 plus 1x4, and 16x4, providing options for nearly any situation. All the I/O on this active splitter is balanced, XLR 3-pin and four additional XLR outputs are conveniently located on the front panel for easier access.
- Mic/Line: switches the level of input between mic or line with LED indication. When in the line position, the phantom power switch is bypassed, the input has a 20 dB pad, and the input impedance changes to >10 kilohms.
- Phantom Power: this switch provides +48V phantom power down the XLR cable to microphones that require it.
- Gain: a twelve-position switch adds gain in 6 dB steps from 0 to +66 dB, making it incredibly easy to replicate on each channel.
- V.U. Meter: each channel has a six LED VU meter, covering a range of -20 to +18 dB.
- Listen: this switch routes the input from that particular channel to the headphone section for monitoring. Each channel can be activated separately (solo) or all can be monitored at once if preferred.
If a link switch is active, the input feeding the four outputs of that particular channel is disabled, and re-routed to the input of the previous channel. If the link switch of that channel is also active, then it is re-routed further to the previous channel. In this way any combination of linking can be available.
