The MC1.1 sports a new RIAA phono input stage for full compatibility with RIAA equalization, which is used to get the most space out of phonograph records without sacrificing audio fidelity. In the old days, most amplifiers and preamplifiers featured phono cartridge preamps with the RIAA curve to ensure universal reproduction of the full fidelity of the original vinyl masters, but as vinyl records have become less common, many modern hi-fi devices omit this technology, producing undesirable audio quality on vinyl playback that often over-emphasizes the high frequencies.

The MC1.1 includes an RIAA input preamp so that your records shine in their true, original fidelity. Simply push the RIAA button in to switch from traditional line input levels to the RIAA curve, and enjoy your records in maximum quality with your hi-fi system. The ultralow noise, transparent circuit design, and low-hum toroidal transformer will also help to ensure you get the cleanest possible signal without sacrificing any of that signature vinyl warmth.
