Drawmer MC3.1 Overview

Hear the Music, Not the Equipment
Building upon the success of the MC2.1, the MC3.1 Monitor Controller from Drawmer is accurate, transparent, and features comprehensive functionality for studio applications. Thanks to wide ranging I/O and a combo XLR-1/4" digital AES/S/PDIF digital input, the MC3.1 can easily switch between 5 different sources, and with sophisticated cue mix facilities and dual headphone amplifiers, you can check your mixes in numerous ways, such as separate artist and engineer mixes.

The MC3.1 sports two stereo pairs of XLR-1/4" combo inputs, RCA, and 3.5mm inputs, and talkback I/O (mic in, output, and footswitch) as well as three pairs of XLR 3-pin speaker outputs, a dedicated mono/sub XLR output, and a 1/4" stereo pair cue mix output, designed to be sent to a headphone amplifier for cue mix routing. The MC3.1 supports all the mix checking and control functions expected of a robust monitor controller, such as individual speaker control and switching for A/B comparisons, low-, mid-, and high-frequency soloing, dim, left and right mute, phase reversal, and more. The rugged steel and aluminum chassis can be screwed to a desk, sports a Kensington security slot, and includes an external AC power adapter with automatic voltage switching for global compatibility.

Smooth, Versatile Control
The monitor volume control adjusts the signal level of both stereo channels for all speaker outputs. The volume knob is variable and affects the volume of the monitors A, B, C, and SUB only, while separate trim controls are provided for the individual speakers, sub, headphones, and talkback section.

A secondary preset volume control on the front provides repeatable calibrated output level for the monitors, so that at the flick of a switch, the engineer can hear the mix at the same predetermined volume, time after time, without having to meticulously adjust controls. Both the preset volume control and the main Monitor Volume knob utilize paralleled custom quad pots for excellent channel matching and a smooth feel.

Comprehensive I/O
The MC3.1 incorporates three stereo balanced speaker outputs, plus a dedicated mono speaker/subwoofer output, each with individual left/right trims under the unit to provide complete control over level matching. Furthermore, each can be switched individually and simultaneously and in any order. You can listen to multiple speakers with the same subwoofer or turn the subwoofer off altogether.
Keep Your Finger on the Pulse
The MC3.1 makes it simple to keep an eye on your signals at all times with numerous mix checking capabilities, such as low, mid, and high solo switches to hear how the lows bleed into the mid, or the stereo width of each, and also the ability to swap the left and right channels. The talkback has been expanded from previous Drawmer designes to include an external mic in addition to the internal mic as well as footswitch operation.
