What accessory would I need to be able to connect it to my MacBook Pro?
The only input type on the Klipsch Reference R-40M Bookshelf Speakers (Pair), B&H # KLR40MBLK, is a binding post pair, which will accept bare speaker wire or speaker wire connected with a banana plug. To connect a MacBook Pro to these speakers, the simplest method would be by using a stereo receiver. You could use speaker wires to connect a receiver like the Sony STR-DH190 Stereo Receiver (B&H # SOSTRDH190) to the speakers, then connect a MacBook Pro to the receiver via Bluetooth or over a 1/8" aux cable from the computer's headphone jack.

These are passive speakers that will receive both audio and power from an amplifier/receiver. To play music from a mobile device, these speakers could be connected to a receiver that supports Bluetooth connectivity.
