Update: Genaray customer service was very helpful and responsive. It was impressive that the problematic LED panel was replaced with a new one, even though the original purchase was out of warranty. Hopefully, the original issue was a single-case failure. The company clearly values its customers and stands by its products.

After about 1.5 year of occasional use, the LED panel started losing
battery charge itself. Now it has to be charged every week in order to be ready when needed. Fully charged, put into camera bag, and in 1-2 weeks it's completely dead just sitting in camera bag.
This is a great light, well-made and with a ton of features.

This Genaray RGB-11X7L LED Light Panel is a great addition to my kit. First off, the versatility is insane. With three different modes, you can really set the mood for any shoot. I love using the CCT mode to dial in the perfect brightness and color temperature. Having the range go from 2500K to 9900K is fantastic. Whether I’m going for a cool blue tone or a warm sunset vibe, it’s all at the touch of a couple of dials. And being able to dim from 1-100% is also outstanding. Not all lights dim down to 1%, so having this light do so is excellent, I love having that control.
But the real fun happens in RGB mode. With access to the full 360° color spectrum, I can play with any hue imaginable, which is perfect for more creative projects. Plus, it has 21 different preset lighting effects, like strobe, candlelight, and even a TV screen effect. It’s so handy when you want to add a little drama or realism to your shots without needing extra gear.
And I love the size. 11x7 is great for providing a lot of brightness, and is still small enough and lightweight enough to mount on your camera without it being too burdensome. But the large size can also work for mounting on a light stand to use as a standard RGB light. This light really is versatile.
One feature that totally surprised me is that it doubles as a power bank. While I’m shooting, I can charge my phone or wireless receivers, which is a lifesaver when you're on location and don’t have access to outlets. And with a long-lasting internal battery, I don’t have to worry about running out of juice mid-shoot.
The build quality is also excellent in my opinion. It has an all metal housing and the buttons/dials are very responsive. The front panel has a slight diffusion installed, which not only diffuses the light but protects the LED's. This light is also well-designed. The menu system and layout is very intuitive and easy to navigate/figure out. The build is super practical too, with one vertical and two horizontal 1/4-20 mounting options and a cold shoe adapter it is easy to set up anywhere. I love that versatility.
I am very impressed with this camera light. The 11x7 size is big for an on-camera light, but it is light enough that it doesn't feel big or heavy on the camera. It's well-built with quality materials and with all its features make it extremely versatile. It really is a great light and a great addition to my kit.
