USB-C and USB-C to USB-A cables are both included for convenience. Installed drives may be accessed simultaneously, and each of the two bays have individual power switches, making it safe and easy to swap out a hard drive without interrupting access to the other. Will this bay accept the AtomX ssd mini drives that come with the Atmos Monitors?
Asked by: Shon
The OWC 2-Bay 2.5" / 3.5" U.2 & SATA USB 3.2 Gen 2 Drive Dock, B&H # OWCTCDRVDKSN, has not been tested with AtomX SSDmini, and while they share the same interface, the footprint is different than a standard drive. I would recommend using a product such as the Atomos USB-C 3.1 Powered Docking Station, B&H # ATOMDCK004, which is guaranteed to work with AtomX SSDmini drives.

Does each of the two drives show up as separate drives on your computer? Can you configure so that the two drives act as one bigger drive?
Asked by: Timothy
The OWC 2-Bay 2.5" / 3.5" U.2 & SATA USB 3.2 Gen 2 Drive Dock (B&H # OWCTCDRVDKSN) does not have RAID capabilities built-in; when using two drives, they would show up independently. Depending on which operating system you are using, you could RAID or combine the drives using Disk Utility on macOS or Windows Storage Spaces on Windows.

Will this give faster read/write performance on 7200HDs & SSDs when using Mac USBC & firewire connections than OWTCDRVDCK model?
Asked by: Elliott
The OWC 2-Bay 2.5" / 3.5" U.2 & SATA USB 3.2 Gen 2 Drive Dock, B&H # OWCTCDRVDKSN, offers slightly better throughput compared to the OWTCDRVDCK when using U.2 or M.2 NVMe SSD drives (adapter required). However, the difference in performance is negligible, as both docks can reach write speeds of up to 900 MB/s. They connect via USB-C with a 10 Gbps interface and are compatible with Thunderbolt 3 or newer ports; however, they do not support FireWire.
