I had my Sonos system on the house WI-FI and would get spooling and sound skips Yes it was suppose to work but just didn't quite. I tried to put a repeater in the same room with one unit but still had a problem it just was not right. My research lead me to the fact the Sonos system would create its own Mesh network if one unit was directly connected to router. The key element here for my generation of Sonos 100's was an adapter... put in place and perfection!!! Finally the sound system I invested in.

Expensive but works

Since I didn't need the analog jack, I was hopeful that I could use a standard USB C to RJ45 adapter but it wasn't compatible. So, it is expensive but it works. I wish the Era series had retained the RJ45 jack because I wire them wherever possible.

No. You would only need one of the Sonos Combo Adapter for Era 100/300 (Black) to be able to plug into your source device, and then you can stereo pair it to a 2nd Era speaker.
