Is there a reason to select one of the frequencies over the others for use in the United States?

If you will be using the system in a specific city, you will want to choose a frequency band that avoids the strong TV and radio broadcast signal in that area in order to have more options for clear frequencies to use for wireless transmission with the microphone. For pairing, does the transmitter need to touch or be close to the receiver? Can they be paired without the app?
The Sennheiser EW-DP EK Camera-Mount Digital Wireless Receiver and compatible transmitter need to be in line of sight of each other, but can be up to 100 feet away when pairing by pressing the sync buttons on the receiver and transmitter. The EW-D Smart Assist app is not required for pairing.

This is being touted as a G4 replacement, but will they have methods of mounting the receiver in sound bags?
This is a pertinent question which, as of mid-April 2023, Sennheiser has yet to address. Ultimately, the ability of the EW-DP EK to integrate into setups other than a strictly camera-mount scenario may be a deciding factor of its utility and the extent of its adoption within the industry.
