Great accessory for combining 2 wireless mics with a dslr.

OK for 2 Sennheiser EW, Less so Sony; B&H sales improvement

B&H ought to have a phone way (other than cell-phone videocalls) for customers to inquire about product details that the company's call-center sales people are not privy to (such as how long can the coiled cable be extended without exerting undue strain on the jacks). In on-location A/V, cables commonly get lost, misplaced, or develop shorts. If you are looking for a cable to combine two Sennheiser receivers, this one might suit you. It's distinctively blue! It has the best strain-relief'ed right-angle connections I've encountered. However, if you, like I was, are looking for a cable to combine the dual outputs of a single Sony URX-P03D or Sony URX-P41D then understand this problem. (1) The jacks on the Sonys are too close together for the right-angle plugs of this cable, which forces them either stick out forwards (which obstructs the power switch atop my P03D) or (2) an inch backwards - which protrudes (prohibitively) beyond whatever you might intend to mount it flush against. Sony ought to sell their own cables for these products distinctly (which I could not find) AND in the meantime, B&H should specify a couple of suitable, vertical-locking, dual-plug into 1-stereo right-angle cable product in the Accessories listing of the Sony dual-channel receivers. (But B&H ought not gauge on pricing for suitable, locking cables). The trouble of our buying things not suitable, requiring return, could be averted when B&H institutes a way for telesales center reps to get access to either the product, or communicate better with the showroom floor staff who could test the suitability for the product. Would B&H Staff, please indicate HERE the length of coiled cable when extended (not taught enough to put pressure on the jacks it's plugged into)?

can I jam time code to the Deity Tc1? and that get audio with as well with this cable on the sony 7iv in the audio port?
Asked by: xavier
No, the Sennheiser CL 35-Y Dual Locking 3.5mm TRS Male to 3.5mm TRS Male Coiled Y-Cable will not work for the application described. Instead, you can use the Deity Microphones C12 Locking Right-Angle 3.5mm TRS to Right-Angle 3.5mm TRS Cable for Mirrorless/DSLR Cameras (B&H # DEDTS0158D64) to jam timecode from the Deity Microphones TC-1 Wireless Timecode Generator Box (B&H # DEDTT0272D80) into the mic input on the Sony a7 IV Mirrorless Camera. Timecode on the TC-1 can be controlled using a smartphone app.

Does this send one receiver's output to left and the other to right, or a blend on both channels?
Asked by: Michael
The Sennheiser CL 35-Y Dual Locking 3.5mm TRS Male to 3.5mm TRS Male Coiled Y-Cable does not blend the output from the connected receivers. The audio from each receiver would be on one audio channel on the recorded footage.

Does this cable send the signals to L-R channels or to a single mono channel by blending them? Lisa S. didn't answer that.

How long are the Y branches? How long from the Y junction to the stereo plug (when not stretched tautly)? Good w/ Sony URX-P03D?
Asked by: Scott
Each of the straight blue sections of the Sennheiser CL 35-Y Dual Locking 3.5mm TRS Male to 3.5mm TRS Male Coiled Y-Cable measures 1.7" (43mm) from the split to the locking 3.5mm connector on each side. The length of the section with the blue coiled cable measures 3" (76mm) from the split to the non-locking 3.5mm connector. The CL 35-Y Cable is not compatible for use with the Sony Dual-Channel Camera-Mount Wireless Receiver as the locking and non-locking connectors are on the wrong sides.
