Kase Universal Magnetic Front Cap Reviews
Weak and falls of easily (at least version 1)
Not sure if I just have the earlier less optimized version, but mine falls off quite easily. I've nearly lost it on two occasions because I put it on my lens and walked around. Merely brushing my clothes caused it to pop off. Regular caps would have stayed.
Not really better than a normal lens cap
This is very well made and has a very strong magnet which is great. However, the magnet for this cap is much stronger than the Kase filter magnets which means if this cap is stacked onto a filter, it'll pull the filters off the lens when removed. That is, the connection between this cap and the filters is MUCH stronger than the connection between the filters and the lens. I typically have to use two hands to pry the cap off the filter which defeats the purpose of the easy-on-easy-off magnetic system. For this reason, I think a normal lens cap would serve you better, even with the magnetic filters.
