Pacific Image PowerSlide X Reviews

PowerSlide X Mold on delivery

I’ve had 2 PowerSlides X delivered so far. I returned the first one due to an overwhelming smell of Mold in the packing material and with the unit itself. B&H replaced the scanner and the replacement smells of mold. This one is not as bad, but if I close the door to my office and re enter the smell over takes you! YIkes!! Something must have gone wrong in storage, shipping or manufacturing. Even things wrapped in plastic stink. I’m going to return # 2 as well. Also, as of this writing the plugin does not work on Mac Tahoe. Come with the old USB 2 connector vs USB C. I had to use my old 2013 Mac to get the software to work. The manufacturer is not keeping up with the times.

Outstanding Batch Processing

I Needed To Scan More Than 2000 Slides - I Could Not Have Done It Without The Batch Mode And The Software Settings, Once Set To My Liking, Are Used On Every Slide Without Intervention. No (zero, Nada) Slide Jams! The Dust/scratch Removal Is Nice And Works Pretty Well. Really Old Slides That Have Oxidized Suffer The Most And Appear Grainy, But That's Likely The Best That Can Be Done With Them.
