Produced as a by-product in the development of the Bento 8, the Bento 2 Pure Analog from Fredenstein is a high-performance, two-slot rack chassis compatible with both Fredenstein Series 600 modules and API 500-series plug-in cards, accepting a maximum of two modules or one two-slot stereo module. The Bento 2 sports a lot of useful functions for a range of audio production scenarios, such as compressor bus linking, which allows you to link compressor modules via a switch on the rear of the chassis, and internal audio routing facilities in which slot 1 can be daisy-chained to slot 2 with a simple flip of a switch.
Fredenstein gave special attention to the power supply in the Bento 2, providing a universal voltage, linear power supply with high output currents per slot, ±16 or +48 VDC at 2A or 500mA respectively, more than enough juice to power the most demanding cards. While most linear power supplies also come with the drawback of induced hum from the mains transformer, the Bento 2 sports extensive shielding on its power supply, greatly reducing hum. And with parallel 1/4" TRS and XLR I/O, you will have no problem connecting your rack setup to the rest of your gear for high-quality recording, mixing, and mastering sessions.
