Sonos Amp 250W Stereo Power Amplifier (Black)

Connect your favorite passive speakers to your Sonos ecosystem with the Sonos Amp 250W Stereo Power Amplifier. It connects to a pair of stereo speakers and a subwoofer, delivering up to 125W per channel thanks to its Class-D amplifiers. It connects to your home network via Ethernet or 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, to an audio source via RCA, and to your compatible display via HDMI ARC. The Amp can be controlled via the Sonos app, which is required for setup.

Versatile Support
With its 125W per channel output, the Amp can provide sound to your outdoor, bookshelf, floorstanding, or architectural speakers. An auto-detecting subwoofer output is also onboard.
Local and Streaming Audio
The Amp works with over 100 streaming services, so you can enjoy whichever ones you prefer. It also has an HDMI ARC input to connect your compatible display, plus a stereo RCA line-in for connecting your turntable or other audio source. Over 100 streaming services are supported, as well as AirPlay 2, so you can listen to the music, audiobooks, podcasts, radio stations, videos, and more from your favorite apps.
Customization via APIs
The Amp can integrate with select third-party devices for both source audio and control.
Designed for Flexible Control
Use the Sonos app, AirPlay 2, your universal remote, the touch controls on the Amp, or your voice with your compatible smart device to control the Amp.
Mounting Options
The Amp fits in standard racks and can be wall-mounted. It also features a simplified set of connections for a neat-looking aesthetic.

Installed a new Sonos amp and a pair of speakers in the ceiling. Great sound. The installation was easy and the order/shipping process from B&H was great.

"Adjustable bass and treble controls let you adjust your sound performance. Volume can be adjusted". These words are right from the description. But I don't see these controls on the device. How do I do these adjustments?

Can I use my Bose 161 speakers with this amp as they are rated at a max of 100w?

You are able to use it, you just would not want to turn the volume at max. This could then blow out the speakers.

The Sonos Amp 250W Stereo Power Amplifier will work directly with a turntable that has a built in phono preamp. If the turntable does not have a built in phono preamp then you will need a phono preamp between the turntable and the Sonos Amp, like BH #BEVP549 or B&H # ROVP29 for example.

Yes, you can connect to one of the zone pre amp outs, or if you're going to use this to power rear speakers you can come out the surround pre amps. You have quite a bit of flexibility with the Denon receivers.

can I use my Music Hall 5.1 turntable directly into this unit? So the Q is... does the AMP have phono pre-amp?

No, this amplifier does not have a phono stage pre-amp. You would need a dedicated phono preamp. Music Hall makes some very high quality ones to go with their turntable. What is the minimum acceptable impedance for the speaker output. (Can I connect four 8 ohm speakers?)

The Sonos Amp 2.1 allows for two speakers up to 125 watts at 8 ohms, plus a subwoofer to be connected. In order to connect four speakers, you would run them in parallel, two on the left and two on the right, and each speaker would operate at 4 ohms. The total wattage the speakers should require is 125 watts per side. So each speaker should be rated 60 watts or under at 8 ohms, in order for this amp to power them safely.
