This dimmer switch uses the ZigBee protocol for wireless connection without requiring an internet connection or a network hub/router. When connected to the Hue Bridge (available separately), you'll be able to control up to three rooms or a zone with each individual button (four buttons in total). Additionally, you'll be able to control your lights with your iOS or Android mobile device via the Philips Hue app.
