I was very happy to buy this, got a sweet deal. My previous experience with this same model was a 10TB version and has been amazing but I needed more space. I got my drive and put it on a flawless Caldigit enclosure (probably the best you can get). Long story short: I transfer all my data from the 10TB (Lucky me i did not delete it) and after using the drive regularly I got the click of death while editing some photos (hear it on the video). I ́m still on the process of getting the replacement as Toshiba ́s warranty system is very annoying. Lucky me I use an online backup service and did not delete my previous drive so almost no loss of files, I lost the most recent download al editing to my Lightroom but I did not delete the camera cards so I only lost time. I think this being a very big capacity drive is more likely to fail than my previous one. I hope I can get an RMA and a new drive and definitely NOT deleting my previous drive until a lot of time passes. Not really sure if I can trust the new drive though.

Bought 3, which were well packaged, both in the Toshiba box and the B&H box that they arrived in. All passed a SMART long test and badblocks with flying colors. If you have relatively recent hardware, sustained transfer speeds of 230 MB/s are possible. Even at those rates, all three drives are quite quiet during the transfers. Have bought Toshiba drives for 12 years, and besides two that were dead on arrival in the same package back in 2020 (most likely due to bad packaging or handling from another vendor), I have had no problems with any of them. Started with 3 TB drives, upgraded to 8 TB drives, and now have six 16TB X300 Pro drives. Buy with confidence.
