Anton Bauer HyTRON 100 overview

  • 1Description

Power your high-load Gold mount camera, rig, or accessories, up to a 175W draw, with the Anton Bauer HyTRON 100 Battery. Based on NiMH (Nickel Metal Hydride) chemistry, these high-capacity batteries don't carry the same flight, travel, or storage restrictions as Lithium-ion power sources. This means they are more flexible for professionals that require high-capacity power sources and travel often.

Not only is the HyTRON 100 powerful, it is also intelligent. Sporting an onboard "Fuel Computer", the HyTRON 100 is constantly monitoring the batteries activity during use, recharging, and idle in order to provide accurate capacity metrics to the onboard LCD and Fuel Gauge in the viewfinder of compatible cameras with a Gold mount.

Note: HyTRON batteries require an InterActive charger, as older chargers and chargers from other brands cannot communicate with the Fuel Computer.

Fuel Computer
A microprocessor built into the HyTRON 100 is the brain behind RealTime LCD Display and Fuel Gauge viewfinder information. The Fuel Computer accurately monitors the energy in the battery by taking into account battery age, self-discharge, charge/discharge rate, operating conditions and previously experienced charge/discharge cycles. The battery constantly "learns" its precise state of charge and remaining capacity. This data is automatically transmitted to compatible InterActive chargers for optimal charging performance.
RealTime LCD
Simultaneously displays both the remaining run-time (in 15-minute increments) and the percentage of remaining battery capacity (in 20% increments) at all times on the battery itself. Time is automatically updated based on the power draw. When no load is attached, the battery will display time remaining for a theoretical 20W load.
Viewfinder Fuel Gauge Display
Cameras which include the Anton/Bauer InterActive viewfinder feature connect with the battery's Fuel Computer to display an accurate "Fuel Gauge" of remaining battery capacity in the viewfinder. Reference your camera's owner's manual for proper menu settings.
Impac Case Design
A thick, high-impact outer shell protects the battery cells from damage.
Deep Sleep Motion Sensor
The HyTRON 100 incorporates a "Deep Sleep" feature which minimizes the self-discharge rate of the battery when it is inactive and stored for over 14 days when not on a charger. When picked up, subjected to a load, or placed on charge the battery's motion sensor and internal electronics will wake the battery so it will be ready for use.

    Anton Bauer HyTRON 100 reviews

HyTRON 100 Battery is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from tried and true... We had to replace our 6 year old Anton Bauers with a new set for our Sony DSR 250's. We had the choice between the Dionics and Hytrons, and based on the fact that we use them to end of life we went with the Hytrons. The staff at AB were helpful in explaining that while the Dionics are a great battery, they only have an 18 to 30 month life span by their standards, where the Hytrons are more around 4 to 5 years. These will likely outlast the cameras, but I won't have to worry about them dying prematurely.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Filming Deadline and Not Able to Charge Battery! We have to film in 2 days and the manual included with the battery says the HyTRON battery can only be charged with a software chip upgrade (revision 3.4 or higher) on our charger (states any Titan series charger)! They list most of their chargers! Then they say to call Customer Support (203) 925-4991! This would have been nice to know BEFORE I bought the battery! Problems Encountered: Not able to charge the battery!!! BEWARE!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good life, but heavy battery I like the new digital batteries from A/B... The readout display is wonderful. However, the battery is also quite heavy and actually weighs more than my JVC GY-HM700u. On bigger broadcast cameras that might be a good thing, but on the smaller 1/3 cameras it actually tends to throw it a little out of balance. Also, note that this battery WILL NOT work with third-party chargers that don't support A/B's new digital technology.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent We've had 6 of the HyTRON 100s for going on 5 years now. They've been put through the wringer and still operate like champs. Performance has dropped some from when they were new, but that's the nature of batteries. I highly-recommend a charger with a DDM chip to keep them in optimum condition, though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hytron 100, power you can count on what's so great about the Anton Bauer Hytron 100 is the power provided and the duration, as a professional videographer, in the field on location, having ample power is everything. with this battery, problem solved and it will be dependable for not just months but for YEARS.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Reliable battery Great battery, as expected. This is my third Anton Bauer battery that I purchased. If you don't need the extra long runtime of the Hytron 140, this is a good choice, at a much lower price! However, this battery weighs about the same as the Hytron 140.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Too Big to fit on back of RED Epic These batteries are too big when mounted directly to the back of an RED Epic body. Their size prevents you from being able to reload the side SSDs with the plate still on the camera.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful I've had this battery for 2 months now, and I have nothingnegative to say about it. Except the high price tag, it's a5-star product.
