Nothing can make signal routing in a studio environment easier than the Blackmagic Design VIDEOHUB 40X40 12G. The only challenge is to connect the SDI cables in the middle - I wish there was a tool that made the job easier, especially with brand-new cables that have sticky connectors.

There are no separate audio inputs. All audio is expected to be embedded wit a video input and will be routed with the video. There is no separate audio routing.

There is no scaling of signals in a Videohub. Outputs will be exactly as the input selected.

Blackmagic does not list the noise level of the Blackmagic Design Videohub 40x40 12G Zero-Latency Video Router; however, when used in a sufficiently conditioned environment, sound levels should be at a reasonable level.
