Saramonic Blink Me Overview

Ideal for content creators, videographers, journalists, vloggers, podcasters, and live streaming, the black Saramonic Blink Me is a true-wireless, digital microphone system that offers a complete, cost-effective solution for recording clear-sounding dialog, interviews, and speech with two people talking simultaneously—directly to a mirrorless/DSLR camera, recorder, or mobile device.

The Blink Me B2 consists of two compact clip-on transmitters, each with its own built-in omnidirectional microphone, allowing you to quickly attach them to subjects for fast, run-and-gun-style shoots. The tiny two-channel receiver features a 3.5mm output connection for camera use and a headphone jack to monitor your audio in real time. You can also connect to mobile devices using the USB-C port. Camera mounting is made easy by the receiver's magnetic clip, which easily attaches to your camera shoe. A phone holder is also provided.

The system provides out-of-the-box operability for anyone (thanks to quick, one-click pairing) and delivers reliable transmission with a clear sound at a line-of-sight distance up to 328'. Built-in rechargeable batteries provide up to 8 hours of operation on the transmitters and 24 hours on the receiver. The receiver features charging contacts on both sides, allowing you to charge both transmitters simultaneously.

The Blink Me transmitters are compact and lightweight but packed with features. They offer a built-in omnidirectional microphone with digital gain control, muting, and a furry windscreen. The optimized 2.4 GHz wireless transmission system uses automatic frequency hopping technology to ensure a stable stream of audio, even in areas with high RF activity. The transmitters also feature up to 22 hours of multi-mode onboard recording with a resolution of up to 24-bit / 48 kHz, ensuring you never miss a recording due to signal dropout. You can even choose to record audio without the receiver entirely. The transmitters also feature an HD Active Noise-Cancellation function that delivers an ultralow noise recording, focusing on the subject's voice and eliminating background noise.
Customizable Touchscreen Interface for Creators Who Want to Make a Statement
The Blink Me features a touchscreen interface that gives users easy access to settings, allowing you to make quick changes to the transmitters' performance. It also features a unique customizable UI wallpaper (via the app), ideal for those creators who want to make a visual statement. This allows you to display your company's logo, social media handle, web address, your art, or even pictures of your loved ones and pets. This standout feature sets the Blink Me apart from other wireless systems and allows you to creatively standout in all your content.
Remarkably Flexible & Ingenious Touchscreen Dual Receiver
The system includes a remarkable dual-channel camera-mountable touchscreen receiver. It features a magnetic cold shoe mount that allows you to mount it on top of a camera or smartphone with the included tripod phone holder. The receiver charges the transmitters when magnetically connected in between shoots or when you are charging the receiver. It offers a full-featured touchscreen that allows you to control the receiver's setting and all the transmitters' settings remotely. The receiver also features 3 output settings: Mono, allowing you to record the mics mixed; Stereo, separating the mics to the left and right outputs; or Safety Mono, mixing the mics with a full signal on the left and a -6 dB safety track on the right.
Simultaneous 3.5mm & USB-C Audio Outputs
The receiver features an autosensing 3.5mm output with a TRRS output cable, allowing you to plug it into any 3.5mm device and it will automatically detect if it is TRS or TRRS. It also features a stereo USB-C digital output, allowing you to connect it to USB-C smartphones, tablets, computers, and more. Pair it with an Apple USB to Lighting adapter for compatibility with iPhones and iPads with Lighting ports. And the best part is that you can record from the 3.5mm and USB-C outputs simultaneously, allowing you to record to multiple devices at the same time. It also features a 3.5mm headphone output for real-time monitoring, vital for recording into devices that lack a headphone output.
App for Advanced Control, Customization, Video/Audio Recording & Much More
The Blink Me takes control and customization to the next level with the Saramonic App. Adding the Saramonic App allows you to customize the transmitters' UI to feature a new theme or add your logo or picture. It also gives you control over the transmitter's button functions, allowing you to change what the transmitters' buttons do to optimize your production workflow. It also includes the Saramonic SmartRecorder built-in, giving you free full-featured video and audio recording apps, an ideal app recorder for the Blink Me and other microphones. I bought it for the customizable screen but was very pleased with the awesome features that it has. Don't give me wrong, I love putting my pictures and logo on the display, but the system has a lot more than just flash. The onboard recording is great and it does not require an app to download it to my computer. I just put the transmitters on the receiver and plug the receiver into my laptop and I can easily drag the files on my desktop. This is very convenient. I am also really enjoying the fact that I can just record the transmitters and not have to use the receiver plugged into my camera or phone. Another thank God I did not think I would be so excited about, is the noise canceling. Really great when I'm filming outdoors or when my air conditioner kicks on, eliminating the street noise or that annoying hum of my AC. Very happy with the system, and I really like the way it helps me stand out from the crowd.

The sensitivity is ok, but not great and the lack of 3.5mm inputs on the transmitters make these a rather novel and nice use, since it will be hard to hide the mics.

In the manual, it states that "if the receiver reaches its safe battery level it will stop charging the transmitters". Huh?

Unfortunately, there was an error in the wording of the user manual for the Saramonic Blink Me 2-Person Clip-On Wireless Microphone System. Instead of stating "if the receiver reaches its safe battery level it will stop charging the transmitters," it should say "it will start charging the transmitters." Saramonic has been made aware of the error and apologizes for any confusion it has caused.

Yes. The Saramonic Blink Me 2-Person Clip-On Wireless Microphone System does have a built-in recording feature on the transmitters, allowing them to record audio from each mic directly onto the transmitter's internal memory. Additionally, the receiver has 3 output settings: Mono, allowing you to record the mics mixed; Stereo, separating the mics to the left and right outputs; or Safety Mono, mixing the mics with a full signal on the left and a -6 dB safety track on the right. So you can record audio with the two mics separated onto different channels when using the Stereo output setting.

The unit won't work with the supplied cable and an XLR adaptor the supplied cable into my camera XLR input, Is there a fix?

Please be sure that the receiver for the Saramonic Blink Me 2-Person Clip-On Wireless Microphone System is set to "mono" mode when using a single XLR adapter. For "stereo" mode, a 3.5mm to dual XLR Y-cable, like the Saramonic SR-UM10-CC1 3.5mm TRS to Two XLR Male Output Y-Cable for Wireless Mic Systems (B&H # SASRUM10CC1), should be used. Additionally, make sure the camera's input level is set for "mic" and the phantom power setting (48V) is turned off.

Can a multiple systems be added for a total of four users or more?

The Saramonic Blink Me 2-Person Clip-On Wireless Microphone System with Touchscreens & Recording (B&H # SABLINKMEB2) will offer the best performance and reliability when no more than two systems (four users total) are used simultaneously in a closed space.
