The MS Vintage Bundle from Cherry Audio is a bundle of 7 powerful modules and a library of presets for the Voltage Modular that allows the Virtual Modular synthesizer to recreate the sought-after tonal qualities of legendary analog Japanese synths from the 1970s. The collection includes dual VCO-style oscillators, filters, and ADSR envelope generators along with a variety of presets to get you started. The Voltage Modular software (available as a free download) runs on Mac and Windows computers as a plug-in or standalone instrument.
VCO-20 and Poly VCO-20 Dual-Oscillator Modules
The VCO-20 uncannily reproduces the unique lo-fi oscillator waveforms and unusual ring modulator effect of a popular analog synthesizer. The module features multiple waveform choices, including a variable pulse-width wave. The Poly VCO-20 is the polyphonic version of the module.
EG-20 and Poly EG-20 Envelope Generator Modules
The EG-20 module replicates the dual envelope generators featured in the classic Korg MS-20 analog synthesizer. The two envelope generators are completely independent. Delay, attack, sustain, and release controls are provided. The Poly EG-20 is the polyphonic version of the module
VCF-20 and Poly VCF-20 Filter Modules
A dual high-pass / low-pass filter offering the aggressive tones of a classic '70s Japanese monosynth. The module's uniquely raunchy sound totally transforms the overall tonality of Voltage Modular. The high-pass and low-pass sections can be used in series as with the original instrument, or as two independent filters, or mixed together in a number of ways; and there are extensive CV inputs for parameter control. The VCF-20 Filter is based on an original instrument with the coveted Version 35 filter and has been painstakingly reconstructed to sound accurate. Poly VCF-20 is the polyphonic version of the module
ESP-20 Processor Module
The ESP-20 Processor recreates the slightly bizarre and endlessly useful External Signal Processor section of the classic MS-20 synthesizer. The Frequency To Voltage converter analyzes incoming audio and generates matching voltages for controlling oscillator pitch and envelope amplitude. This lets you play the Voltage Modular by singing, playing guitar, or any other monophonic signal source. The ESP-20's frequency converter has a much wider range than the original for increased functionality, while still retaining the quirkiness of the original.
