Epson V39 II Reviews
Terrible.
I bought the scanner and after downloading the drivers it fails to start. It doesn't even turn on. This is a complete piece of garbage. I use my old cannon instead.
Love, Love LOVE the Scanner and setup was brain-dead simple
Mac Mini with M2Pro chip, running latest Tahoe - Rush project, had a bunch of 6"x9" watercolor paintings to scan for a client and had to get them done in 3 days. Researched options and decided on Epson V39 II. Ordered late Thursday and arrived Friday noon. Unboxed and inspected, no dings, in perfect condition and amazingly lightweight and compact - 5 mins. Downloaded the Epson driver and installed - 5 mins. Plugged in the scanner, it powered up no issues, fired up VueScan (better than the Epson scan app), it instantly found the new scanner. So I ran a preview scan at 300 dpi and a 2400 dpi scan to test, no problems. - 5 mins. Then took my Datacolor 48 swatch calibration cards through the scanner and generated a profile with SpyderCheckr for use in Adobe Camera Raw... another 5 mins. Noticed very minor corrections, scanner was near perfect color rendering right out of the box. Finally, ran a production scan on a watercolor painting, output a 2400 dpi scan TIFF file, imported to Camera Raw and corrected, saved as a large format PSB file. Looked more than perfect. Couldn't be happier with this purchase and an excellent value. On thing to be aware of. Be sure to clean the platen and the artwork before scanning each time, because this scanner is so good even the smallest microscopic dust spot will get picked up, especially at 2400 or 4800 dpi.
