Modular synthesizer enthusiasts in search of a next-level percussion synthesizer will be impressed with the erica synths LXR Drum Module. The LXR2 was developed in cooperation with Sonic Potions and ports their LXR-02 drum machine sound engine into a compact Eurorack modular with six different instrument voices, each with over 30 parameters to tweak. The module can produce a wide variety of sounds from classic analog emulations to full-on crunchy digital mayhem.

With no onboard sequencer, the LXR is best paired with a percussion sequencer like the erica synths Drum Sequencer. Drums 1-3 offer 1V/oct tracking for use as basslines and melodic sequences. There are 7 drum trigger inputs with accents which control the 6 voices. Triggers 6 and 7 share the hi-hat voice and offer independent decay times to create the open and closed hi-hat sound.

Each voice features a 3-slot modulation matrix with 17 sources (5 CVs inputs, 6 LFOs, and 6 accent signals), which can be routed to any of the voice parameters. There is a single FX slot with four effects to choose from (Drive, Ringmod, Comp, Delay) plus a performance mode that allows you to morph between two kits in real time. The LXR includes a ribbon power cable and mounting screws.
