I have the DJI Osmo Action 3 that I use with awesome flexible Go pro chesty V2! This V2 head strap is the same thing, just on the head instead of chest! I love it, it's cool. Now viewers can see my head movements like if I had a chin mount. Highly recommended! -The Cool Courier on YT

Yes. The GoPro Head Strap 2.0 is compatible with the DJI Action 4 and 5 cameras, when used with the included Quick Release Adapter Mount.

is there a squigly or other type of grip on the side just opposite where the camera goes (on the forehead) ?

The GoPro Head Strap 2.0 does not have nay additional grips other than those show in the product images.
