Can this adapter be used on other non RED cameras as well, such as a Canon R5?
The RED DIGITAL CINEMA KOMODO RF to PL Adapter with Electronic ND Filter Pack has not been tested on other brands other than the RED models the adapter was made for. We are not aware it would be supported on the Canon R5.

Does the filter mount support 3rd party filters? What kind?
At this time the only two filters supported by the RED DIGITAL CINEMA KOMODO RF to PL Adapter with Electronic ND Filter Pack are two included filters; A clear filter for when no ND is needed and an Electronic ND Filter with a 2-7 stop range. It features precise control of ¼, 1/3 or full stop increments which allows choosing the exact exposure without compromising the intended aperture.

Would this adapter receive lens data from Arri LDS lenses such as Master Prime?
Yes, the ARRI LDS lenses support Cooke /i Data. The RED DIGITAL CINEMA KOMODO RF to PL Adapter with Electronic ND Filter Pack supports Cooke /i & ZEISS XD Data Pass-Through. Please make sure your PL lens mount will be accepted by the adapter with the chart below.

What happens if you mount this adapter on a Canon R5 for example?
The electronic ND of the RED DIGITAL CINEMA KOMODO RF to PL Adapter with Electronic ND Filter Pack may not function, and the adapter has not been tested on the Canon R5. Furthermore, the mounting included that provides for extra strength would not be supported on the Canon R5.

The RED DIGITAL CINEMA KOMODO RF to PL Adapter with Electronic ND Filter Pack supports PL mount lenses. It does not support Canon EF mount lens models. An alternate Variable ND that could be used with the Komodo that has an EF lens mount is listed below. The Canon adapter also has Polarizer and clear filter options that you could add to your purchase.
