This gel holder is a big improvement from the previous model by Profoto! The included aluminum template allows / requires the user to cut gels out of sheet stock. I write the gel number on the outside edge of the Rosco gels that I cut and store them is a small portable photo album for easy access and sorting. I use a Sekonic C-700-U color meter to determine the color temp of the ambient lighting in a room. The meter tells me what gel to use for the flash to match. I insert the gel(s) accordingly and get perfect color balance when the camera color temp is set to match the room ambient light temp. The magnetic attachment is nice. the hinge on mine is stiff but so far it is working well.

I had tons of colored gels from years past. They have a new home on my Profoto OFC flashes and going back to colored gels for color correction or for artistic looks, ...it's been a creative boost.

The Profoto Clic Gel Holder is not compatible with Clic softboxes, the Clic Snoot, and the Clic Magnum.
