Next-Gen KOMODO Sensor
While sized the same as the original 6K S35 global shutter KOMODO sensor, the KOMODO-X sensor has been redesigned from the ground up, offering key architectural improvements while producing excellent image quality and color science. Features include enhanced shadow detail and color, and frame rates up to 80 fps in 6K and 120p fps in 4K.

Compact KOMODO Form
The KOMODO-X 6K camera melds select DSMC3 features with the notably ultracompact KOMODO form. The KOMODO-X is compatible with the upcoming PRO I/O Module for auxiliary power and full-size Gold and V-mount battery use, and it has a built-in micro plate that enables the direct mounting of Micro V-mount batteries without the need for an adapter. It also incorporates a full-size, 6-pin 11-17 VDC power input.
Canon RF Mount
The KOMODO-X comes with a reinforced, locking Canon RF lens mount, offering RED's toolless lens-mount feature for compatibility with a wide range of lenses.
To use ARRI PL-mount lenses, use the KOMODO-X with the RED RF to PL adapter with an electronic ND filter.
Integrated LCD
When working in close quarters or in compact setups, users can preview their images and apply simplified controls via the integrated 2.9" LCD. Pair the KOMODO-X with the daylight-viewable, high-resolution DSMC3 7" Touch LCD, which offers more precise monitoring and full control in a cable-free, decluttered form.
Live Streaming and Expanded In/Out
The KOMODO-X's expanded interface includes:
12G-SDI video output up to 4K60p.
A USB-C port with Ethernet offloading capabilities.
Built-in Wi-Fi for 1080p IP live streaming for web applications and in-app monitoring.
CFexpress Type B
The KOMODO-X has a single media slot for use with a high-capacity, fast CFexpress Type B card.
Record up to 17 hours using a 4TB CFexpress Type B card.
Offload data up to 3x faster than CFast media.
Advanced Connectivity
With a USB-C interface and an integrated Wi-Fi function, the KOMODO-X shines at streamlined IP workflows like Virtual Production and live broadcasting. Use it with the RED Control or Control Pro apps to avail yourself of not only remote camera control but FTP media off-loading and in-camera Cloud uploading.
Add a RED Connect license to broadcast up to 6K live images over IP directly from the camera.
Multicamera and LED volume shooters will appreciate the KOMODO-X's frame-accurate PTP or trilevel genlock syncing with on-the-fly offset ability.
Audio Interface
Improved audio options include a locking, phantom-powered 5-pin connector that can be used with a 3.5mm adapter and KOMODO microphones or with a dual XLR adapter and a wide array of microphones.

This camera can do almost everything! I can get any look! R3d is superrrr versatile and I don't wanna go back to any other camera. I've been having so much fun with this camera and it's super inspiring. There's a ton of third party stuff to get you goin If you don't wanna pay an arm and a leg. & it actually works too! Just look at the short video and pictures If you don't believe me!

Yes, when recording in 5K or 4K on the RED DIGITAL CINEMA KOMODO-X 6K Digital Cinema Camera (Canon RF, Black), the recording area will be cropped from the full Super 35 sensor area. Use the tool here: https://bhpho.to/437p0ud to compare crop factors while using different resolutions.

Data rates for the RED KOMODO-X 6K Digital Cinema Camera (Canon RF, Black)are highly dependent on what type of ProRes/RAW format and the resolution and the framerate. A 1TB card could hold as much as 14 hours in a compressed 2K super35 at 24fps format or as little as 1 hour in 6K super35 at 24fps.

The RED DIGITAL CINEMA KOMODO-X power consumption varies:
It is 28 Watts of power in the camera's basic recording configuration at room temperature, 6K, and 24 frames per second. It is 45 Watts of power when using DSMC3 RED Touch 7", at room temperature, 6K, and 80 frames per second. The RED DIGITAL CINEMA KOMODO has a power consumption of 45 Watts.

RED camera audio is not meant for production, just for scratch. RED cameras "peaking," does not see line level correctly in DSMC2 and DSMC3.
