Updated to serve the needs of the modern podcaster, Twitch streamer, and content creator, the AT2040USB from Audio-Technica takes the analog original with all of its core features, such as a durable metal build, highly focused hypercardioid pickup, and integrated shockmount and pop filter, and adds a digital USB-C output with support for high-resolution audio capture, up to 24-bit / 96 kHz. You get plenty of handy onboard controls, including a high-pass filter that makes it easy to eliminate low-frequency rumbles from AC units and desk movement, a mix control for blending your voice with audio tracks from your computer, and a soft-touch, capacitive mute button to quickly and silently turn your mic off in case a guest goes off the rails.

Further serving the needs of the modern creative content producer, the AT2040USB includes a built-in 3.5mm headphone jack with a high-output amplifier, capable of driving powerful headphones and sporting a dedicated headphone volume control dial, so you can tune in the perfect mix in your ears with minimal latency. Despite all these digital features, the capsule remains true to the original, with the same large diaphragm and potent proximity effect that lets you get warm and intimate the closer you get to the mic. The AT2040USB includes a USB-C to USB-A data cable, a USB-A to USB-C plug adapter, an AT8487 mounting clamp, and a 5/8"-27 to 3/8"-16 threaded adapter, so you can get to work right away.

The AT2040USB sports all the celebrated core features of its analog sibling, including a warm, robust sound, a pro-grade metal body for long-lasting durability, and a highly focused hypercardioid polar pattern that will work wonders for content creators and podcasters trying to minimize room noises like humming computer fans or keyboard taps. Further features carried over from the original AT2040 include the internal, multistage foam mesh windscreen, protecting your audio from pesky plosives, and the integrated shockmount that helps to tame handling noise, bumps, and vibrations transmitted through the stand, boom, or mount.
Direct, Low-Latency Monitoring
Ideal for content creators and podcasters, the AT2040USB includes a built-in 3.5mm headphone jack for direct, low-latency monitoring of your streams. The high-output amplifier provides up to 77mW of output at 32 ohms to drive demanding headphones. You also get headphone volume control on the rear of the mic, so you can dial in the perfect levels for your streaming experience.

The AT2040USB is all about hands-on control. Along with the aforementioned headphone volume control, this microphone also features:

High-Fidelity Digital Conversion
Rather than offer barebones digital specs, Audio-Technica built the AT2040USB in a forward-thinking manner, packing in a high-resolution digital converter for a range of optional sample rates. You can record in 16- or 24-bit audio with selectable sample rates from 44.1 to 96 kHz, letting you to record and stream your audio in high-fidelity without the need for an external audio interface.

The Auray BAI-2N is a two-section broadcast arm with internal springs . This versatile and sturdy broadcast arm is great for studio as well as home use. It's ideal for broadcast, voiceover, and podcasts.

The BAI-2N broadcast arm is designed with internal springs that provide a clean and sleek look. The internal balance springs are precision engineered to support and hold in place microphones of up to 5 lb / 2.27kg. The design also minimizes handling noise when re-positioning the arm. The broadcast arm features a standard 5/8"-27 microphone stud mount that is compatible with most shockmounts and microphone clips. The angle of the microphone stud mount can be adjusted and secured with the locking knob, and the angle is maintained when re-positioning the arm. This eliminates the need to readjust it every time the arm is moved. With an extension of up to 40 inches, and the ability to rotate the arm 360°, the BAI-2N allows for precise microphone placement.

The BAI-2N also features a heavy-duty combo mount that consists of a sturdy C-clamp and a heavy-metal desktop mount. The C-clamp is capable of fastening onto desktops up to 2.3" thick. The C-clamp's slim design minimizes the clearance needed to mount it between a desk and wall. The desktop mount detaches from the C-clamp and provides the option of permanent installation to a desktop with the mounting screws (included). A 14" riser is included for adding height to the broadcast arm in order to extend over computer or studio monitors.

This Is A Great Microphone

The Audio‐Technica AT2040USB has been a solid, reliable microphone for my daily use. I use it for text‐to‐speech, online video conferencing, and recording notes, and it performs consistently across all of those tasks. Because it’s a dynamic microphone, it handles noisy environments better than many condenser mics, which tend to pick up too much background sound. The controls on the back are responsive and practical, and the built‐in headphone jack is a convenient option even though I usually monitor through my PC. The mic has an all‐metal body, feels very well‐constructed, and weighs about 21 ounces (600g). It includes a plastic mic mount and a plastic thread adapter, but both pieces are sturdy and well‐made. One thing worth noting: because the mic is fairly heavy, you’ll want a good microphone stand if you plan to mount it horizontally. An Amazon Basics arm won’t support it well unless you counterweight it. I’m using a K&M 25600 stand, and while it handles the weight, I still add counterweights to the rear of the boom and one of the floor legs for extra stability. Overall, the AT2040USB is a well‐built, dependable microphone that has worked extremely well for my needs.
