The hard drive disc came in non-retail box. Also, the actual HDD is also non-retail version that doesn't look like the photo. But it has correct model number on label. I used hard drive utility and verified 7200rpm. I also used HDD utility to write and verify every sector without any error.

I am running two of these as part of the array in my Terra-Master T4-423. They replace 2-14TB drives. They slotted in and synchronized without a hitch.

What's the difference between buying multiple single drives vs the 2- or 4-pack?

There is no difference between the Seagate 16TB IronWolf Pro 7200 rpm SATA III 3.5" Internal NAS HDD (CMR, Retail, 4-Pack) and single packaged versions. This bundle is just for convenience when ordering sets of drives for a NAS or DAS.

The 20TB version of the HDD is running a little hot, up to +54°C. Is that normal?

How can any electronic component have a normal operating temperature of 41 degrees Fahrenheit where normal ambient temperature of the room would be 70 degrees? The cold side of my air conditioner is not that good!

The Seagate 12TB IronWolf Pro 7200 rpm SATA III 3.5" Internal NAS HDD (CMR, Retail, 4-Pack) is not compatible with the DS1821+, and only Synology drives are officially supported. Here's a 12TB drive that would work: https://bit.ly/4utaw5v.
