BenQ SW272Q Reviews

Nice and vibrant display, nearly incomprehensible packaging

"Take your best guess at what's packed where and how to put it together, hoss!" wouldn't have been my first guess as to what the packing slip and assembly instructions would be but that's how they chose to do it. The assembly instructions are on the face of the monitor and are incomplete. Where does this extra plate go?! Anywho, once I managed to get the thing plugged in and the incompletely labeled top and side shades installed I unplugged my other monitor so that I could update some drivers. While those were updating I looked through the box which appeared to have boxes full of goodies like dongles or cords but just turned out to be intricately folded boxes used for padding. And now that they're all unfolded it will have to go into my recycling bin over the course of the next few weeks. But I did eventually turn it on and it looks really neat! The colors are exactly as they should be, according to the calibration paperwork that was put right on top in an obvious envelope when you open the package and start looking for the assembly instructions, which were inexplicably not in the envelope as well. The 27" screen is plenty large for editing, though your mileage may vary. The stand has a wide adjustment range so you can adjust it up or down quite a bit, and of course it swivels plenty too. It comes with a cleaning cloth and a handy sticker that says "DO NOT SPRAY!" on the monitor so you know not to spray it. It includes several kinds of cords and they're all adequately long enough for my purposes. However, the plugs are recessed behind the monitor, which makes plugging them in awkward. Be sure to either have the monitor laying face down or be looking directly at the back when plugging in the power and other cords or else you're in for a world of frustration. The puck is handy for fiddling with the settings, but you might want to install the batteries far away from the monitor because once you put them in the puck starts working and if you're handling the puck to re-install the frustrating battery cover then you're going to start making changes to the settings unintentionally. Batteries for the puck are included. Time will tell if the juice was worth the squeeze on this monitor, but once the 16 hour installation process is complete I'm sure you'll love it too!

Hello. Thank you for the question about the SW272Q and the SW270C. The BenQ PhotoVue SW272Q is designed to succeed the BenQ SW270C. Its primary enhancement is the increased power delivery through USB-C, which has been upgraded to 90w from the previous 60w. Additionally, both models are compatible with the Mac Studio M2.
