Modular synthesizer enthusiasts in search of a DJ-style filter will be impressed with the erica synths Black DJ VCF, a fully analog Eurorack module that consists of two VCFs, highpass and lowpass in series, with the filter management is done by complex CV routing. Turning the cutoff counterclockwise will engage the low-pass filter, while turning the knob clockwise engages the high-pass filter. When the cutoff knob is at 12:00, the filter is open.
Two CV inputs and two attenuverters control the filter cutoff. This module provides hands-on control over the sound during performance, as well as unconventional timbre modulations that are hard to achieve with conventional state variable filters. The module includes a power ribbon cable and a set of mounting screws.
