The eartips are designed for a secure fit and are made from medical-grade, biocompatible TPE, providing a hygienic, easily cleanable material that is comfortable to wear. Besides the three pairs of acoustic filters, SoundProtex Pro also includes a full-block filter that gives you complete isolation from sound for a perfectly quiet experience, and even keeps your ears dry during a swim. I play music in a band and also at some local jam nights. I bought these earplugs to lower the sound level while maintaining the full frequency range so I can hear what I'm playing accurately. These work the best of any brand I've tried. I am using the medium level inserts and the volume is very comfortable. I can hear all the instruments well. Now, I just need to learn how to not talk too loudly while wearing these! I'm using the largest housings, and they fit my rather large ear canals just right. One benefit of this product, is that you get 3 sizes of earplugs and 3 sets of inserts with different levels of sound reduction. If you have a friend or partner who has smaller or larger ears than you, you could conceivably utilize a second or third set of earplugs out of this kit.

Have Had These For About 2 Years Now And Used Them At About A Dozen Big Festivals And A Dozen Smaller Concerts. First And Foremost, They're Just Not That Comfortable. There's A Fine Balance Between Getting Them In Deep Enough To Seat Properly But Not So Deep They Apply Pressure. And The Plastic Part Digs Uncomfortably On The Outer Parts Of My Ear Pretty Easily. I Can Only Use Them For About 3-4 Hours Before I Need A Break, Which Is No Good For 8 Hour Festival Days. Their Sound Is Also Anything But Flat. Once You Buy Them You Can See The Paperwork With The Actual Frequency Response. The "middle" Level Of Blocking (17dB NRR Advertised) Is About -21dB To -22dB In Bass But Only -15dB To -17dB In Trebles, Which Is The Opposite Of What I Want For A Concert Where The Higher Frequencies Are Dangerous And What I Actually Want Blocked While I Still Enjoy The Bass. The "high" Level Of Blocking (20dB NRR Advertised) Is -23dB To 25dB In The Bass Range And A Hugley Uneven -17dB To -29dB In The Trebles. The "low" Filters (10db NRR Advert) Don't Have Frequency Responsed Documented At All. In Practice, The "high" Filters Block Far Too Much Unless You're At A Dangerously Loud Situation. The "mid" Filters Are Pretty Good For Top-tier Festivals But Block Too Much For Normal Concert Venues. The "low" Filters Barely Do Anything, But Do Seem To Offer A Touch Of Protection For Normal Volume Concerts. But They All Make All Music Sound Really Unbalanced.

The Sennheiser SoundProtex Plus Noise Reduction Rating is 10 dB (low filter), 17 dB (mid filter), 20 dB (high filter) or 25 dB (Full-Block filter/SNR).

Although the design of the Sennheiser SoundProtex Plus Hearing Protection Earplugs and the Westone TRU Hearing Protection Earplugs do look similar, there may be differences in the specifications, as well as in the fit.
