Designed as a powerful NAS solution that can live alongside your other server room equipment, the Jellyfish R24 288TB 24-Bay Rackmount Storage Array from OWC / Other World Computing is a solution for high bandwidth connectivity and can seamlessly merge into complex enterprise network environments. Compatible with Windows, Mac, and Linux, this Jellyfish R24 features 288TB of Enterprise SAS HDD storage, 24 total 3.5" SAS drive bays, dual Intel Xeon Silver CPUs, 512GB of DDR4 ECC RAM, a 2TB SSD cache, and dual 1GbE RJ45 ports. Please note that the 288TB capacity is raw storage, which becomes 194TB of usable space after RAID, performance buffers, and overhead are applied.
The Jellyfish R24 is built as a ZFS RAID Z2, which means that amongst the 24 drives, there are three groups of eight. Within each group of eight, you can lose two drives before any data is lost.
If your team has greater storage needs, the Jellyfish R24 may be expanded using four Jellyfish R24-E expansion units, which connect using an integrated 12G HD mini-SAS port. Between the R24 and four R24-E units, users will have access to 970TB of storage. Depending on how many R24-E units are connected, read speeds can max out at 7000 MB/s, while write speeds can reach up to 6000 MB/s.
The Jellyfish R24 is powered by dual redundant 875W power supplies and has a 4 RU form factor for compatible rackmount bays. OWC's engineers also work closely with Apple, Adobe, and Blackmagic to help ensure seamless workflows between your favorite NLE (non-linear editing), DAW (digital audio workstation), and VFX (visual effects) software, all of which make quick work of demanding raw workflows and multicam sequences.
