Versatile LED Ring Light for Macro Still and Video
The VM-160-V2 LED Macro Ring Light V2 from Bolt offers a lightweight on-camera macro light, ideal for macro photography, that provides high-output lighting for up-close shots. Easily select between eight power output levels from 1/1 to 1/128, and dial in the ideal illumination to shoot macro images or video of flowers, insects, jewelry, and more. The VM-160-V2 provides bright illumination using 18 high-output LEDs and has the ability to use the entire ring light or either the right or left side.
Full Flash Mode uses all of the LEDs and turns on for approximately half a second when the camera shutter is released.
Left and Right Flash Mode illuminates only from the left or right half of the LED ring for more dramatic lighting.
Light Mode activates all of the LEDs for continuous lighting to see exactly where the light will fall as well as for shooting video.
Brightness Adjustment provides 8 output levels from 1/128, 1/64, 1/32, 1/16, 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, and 1/1.
Sleep Mode turns off power after 30 seconds to conserve battery life.

Inexpensive ring light for macro

It definitely has a cheap construction feel to it. I doubt it would hold up in bad weather for long. There is only one color temperature, two is you count the snap on warm filter. However, if you want an inexpensive ring light for macro, which can work as either a flash or fixed light, this is worth the money, especially if you can get it when it goes on sale occasionally, like I did.

Does this include the white diffusion cover that version did? I do not see it in the pictures or description.

No, the Bolt VM-160-V2 LED Macro Ring Light (Version 2) does not include a white diffusion filter. The led ring light is designed with large leds, which helps to avoid hot spots.

The Bolt VM-160-V2 LED Macro Ring Light (Version 2) is compatible with the Sony A1. You can set the power manually on the Bolt light. I would recommend getting this Vello shoe adapter since the shoe of the Sony camera has contacts in the front and you want to protect those. https://bhpho.to/3WsW3pN
