FLM 47GX Reviews

Not that great

Looks very nicely made, like all FLM products, but there's a lot of creep (the same as the small Leofoto ballhead that came with my tripod). Maybe I needed something more hefty for a Nikon D850 and a Sigma 100-400mm lens.

Really awkward configuration

The size and weight of this is great, but I could not get over the configuration. The location of the controls for this is extremely awkward. The pressure control of the ball head creates and the control for the 15-degree rotation know makes a pinch point, the result is that the who thing is just difficult to use in my opinion.

Is there a way to adjust the friction tension? If I were to release the tension to reposition what prevents moving?
Asked by: Russell
The FLM 47GX Centerball Tripod Head with SRB-40 QR Clamp has a friction tension knob. You can adjust the friction tension by tightening or loosening the friction tension knob. If you open the friction tension knob all the way, the main ball adjustment knob will be the only knob that will prevent the head from moving.

How wide is the clamp in its narrowest dimension? i.e., what are the dimensions of the clamping surfaces?
Asked by: KARL
The FLM SRB-40 QR Clamp measures 56mm x 38mm (excluding the knob). The fixed side of the jaw of the Arca-compatible clamp is 38mm long and the adjustable side of the jaw is 32mm long.
