This Pro Fusion Smart AF Adapter from FotodioX allows you to use a Sony E-mount lens on your Nikon Z-mount camera. Compatible with Sony as well as third-party E-mount lenses, this adapter is compatible with any Nikon Z-mount camera and enables advanced features including autofocus, image stabilization, and camera-controlled aperture functions. It has a durable chrome-plated brass mount that is firmware upgradable via the included mount cap. FotodioX SNE-NKZ-FSN Reviews
2nd review with firmware 1.07
My first impression was , wow, this is the best/most compatible E to Z adaptor I have tried so far until the second day it all became unusable... It is an adaptor, I never expected to perform like a native but it is slow. A lot of times, it requires 2-3 presses on AF-ON and takes several seconds to get green confirmation but it works on all my Nikon Z7/Z8/Z9/Zf and all 15 lenses (including the picky Sony Zeiss 50/1.4, 35/1.4ZA) E mount that I own. No complaint, it makes Sony lens alive on Nikon Z body as long you are patient. Strongly recommend to update to version 1.07, this update resolves the issues I encountered at the second day. Fotodiox websire is ver useless, can't find the firmware page until the tech support emailed me. Firmware update link: https://fotodiox-knowledge-base.gorgias.help/en-US/frmwr-sne-nkz-fsn-270801 In summary, if you have multiple Z body and are looking for one adaptor solution, this is the one if you are patient. Weird enough, AF-C mode seems focusing faster that AF-S. If you are looking for fast responsive adaptor, Techart TZE01 (only works for Z7) or Megadapt ETZ21 (works for all four body I have with a few lenses excluded, ex 35/1.4ZA, 50/1.4ZA, 100/2.8 STF). I will update the review in the next few days to report if this 1.07 is giving consistent performance.
good compatibility, slow AF
I have owned and tried several E to Z adaptors ranging from Techart TZE01, Megadapt ETZ21, Meike MK-ETZ. The Photodiox is so far the ONLY one works for ALL body (Z7/Z8/Z9 and Zf) and all SONY/Zeiss/Tamron lens (15 lens). AF is also among the slowest of all adaptors I tried so far. Some of the lenses takes several seconds to think before nailing the focus. The AF speed also depends on lighting condition. Pick this adaptor if you are looking for the wides compatible combinations, not for speed. The other ones either works or does not work, this one takes patience. I'm probably will keep it since I'm mostly adapting portrait E-mount lenses, not for sports application. For critical sports AF situation, I go with native lens.
