The monitor is bright enough to work well outdoors, exceeding expectations. And it has loads of extra features, including zebra and histograms.
I have a mirror rig, with 2 modified GoPro cameras for 3D video. Matching the framing of the 2 cameras is vital. It’s not easy to see the camera backs when they’re in the rig. I was originally going to run both camera signals into a switcher but that setup had too many problems. Decided to get a second OSEE monitor because the price was right.
The monitor is bright and colorful, and it uses a readily-available battery type I already own.
And this blew my mind—since it is a mirror rig, one of the cameras records the scene flipped horizontally. But the OSEE has a setting (had to dig for it) to flip the display horizontally! Once I saw that, I decided to just get a second monitor so I could mount both side by side.
It is a plastic housing, and I didn’t expect something different for $110. My setup doesn’t require something rugged. I’m impressed, and very happy with my purchase.
Poor Build Quality

The picture & menu seemed fine, but the build quality feels soooo cheap and plasticky that I ended up returning for something else. I know I shouldn't expect too much from a $140 monitor, but save yourself some time and money and just get something a little more solid. One drop and this thing is done.
